I recently watched a video opinion piece called All My Homies Hate Skrillex

I went into this video thinking it was just gonna be a old dubstep head complaining about the old days before Skrillex, which it was a bit, but from watching the video I think he had some great points. I only really listened to dubstep when I was younger for like 2-3 years spanning from 2012-2015 basically stopping around Skrillex Recess’s release. I do think he is right that some part of dubstep became a joke, the song structure for most popular dubstep became kinda random voiceline into a crazy drop which is pretty boring if you listen to it again and again. If the voice sample hits or it becomes a bit dated I feel like the song starts to sound like this

I used to listen to people like Knife Party who I think really embody this type of music, and I think this song (SONG REQUEST) is kinda next in that type of music. I do think that this song is probably the best version of a song like this in my opinion and I might have been kinda of mind controlled by the tiktok algorithm for this one because everytime I hear this I do think of how much I don’t like this style of music. I think I like it a bit because it does remind me a bit of eat sleep rave repeat which was one of my favourite songs when I was younger.

I do wish the last drop on this song was different again instead of switching into that weird crowd version of the request I think it could’ve been way better but other than that it’s pretty mid.
